Today we are going to continue our study of culture and see what differences and similarities there are between the cultures of the United States and Japan. We are watching a short film from the Globe Trekker series and be filling out a comparison sheet. On the top, we are looking for similarities, on the bottom we are looking at differences. What do you see in terms of food, entertainment, values, etc...?
Then, on the back side we need to review the very important 5 Themes of Geography...
- Location - where someplace is
- Place - what you see when you get there
- Human-Environment Interaction - how people and the environment impact each other
- Movement - how people connect with each other (either by travel of people or travel of ideas)
- Region - what are areas that have similar characteristics?
Simply describe what you saw in the film about Japan in terms of the 5 themes.
