Today and tomorrow we will be spending most of the class period talking about political parties as we get ready for next week's election. We took a political parties quiz to see what party the kids seemed to agree with the most - a few surprises and some great conversation.

The kids then spent time looking through the party platforms of both the Democrats and the Republicans - looking at issues of health care, energy, environment, and education. The students are encouraged to put the information they collected today on the Student Wiki.

Assignment for Friday (October 31)

After examining the political party platforms, do you tend to believe in the Republican platform or the Democratic Platform. Support your answers with examples. 1/2 to 1 page long.
