History Day Prep (Friday)

Today we spent much of the class time talking about History Day and answering some of the questions the students have. Here are some of the keys for today...
  1. There are 5 basic categories. They are...
    • Research Paper -individual only
    • Exhibit Board - group or individual
    • Performance - group or individual
    • Documentary - group or individual
    • Web site - group or individual
  2. In addition, each group is responsible for a Process Paper, which is meant to describe the WAY your group did their research. This is not a time to describe your topic, but instead the path you took to doing this project.
  3. Finally, we talked about the importance of picking people to work with that will work together and do their part. To help with that - I'm encouraging students to make use the Team 3 Student Wiki to work together. How can using this wiki help?
    • Store all of your information and files in location for anyone in your group to have access to. Even if a member of your group can physically make a work session, they can still get on the site and contribute their ideas.
    • break up the work so that everyone in the groups knows who is responsible for what and there is little confusion about everyone's roles or responsibilities.
    • Your information is available to you anywhere there is internet access. You can work anywhere.
The Project Proposal form is due Tuesday, December 2nd.
